Algorithm

Clinical Decision Support (CDS)
AI systems that assist clinicians by analyzing patient data and providing evidence-based recommendations for diagnosis, treatment, or care management.
Deep Learning
A subset of machine learning that uses neural networks with many layers to learn complex patterns from large datasets. Widely used in medical imaging analysis.
EHR (Electronic Health Record)
A digital version of a patient's medical chart. EHR data is a primary source for training healthcare AI models.
HIPAA
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act — U.S. federal law that sets standards for protecting sensitive patient health information from disclosure.
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
AI's ability to understand, interpret, and generate human language. In healthcare, NLP is used for clinical documentation, coding, and extracting data from unstructured medical notes.
